Dr Nelson Sucgang is a Dermasurgeon and Cosmetic Physician with over 20 years of medical experience. He graduated with a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) from the University of Santo Tomas and initially trained as an Emergency and Trauma Surgeon before specialising in skin cancer surgery and cosmetic medicine.
Dr Sucgang holds Diplomate status with both the Skin Cancer College of Australasia (SCCA) and the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM). He is an active member of the College of Aesthetic and Cosmetic Physicians, the American Society of Esthetique, and the International Dermoscopy Society.
At Southport Metro Medical Centre, Dr Sucgang focuses on skin cancer detection and treatment. He performs comprehensive full body skin checks using dermoscopy, biopsies (bulk billed), and a full range of skin cancer removal procedures including excisions, flaps, grafts and cryotherapy. Most procedures are performed under local anaesthetic as walk-in, walk-out surgery with no hospital visit required.
Dr Sucgang is available at Southport Metro on Saturdays, making him a convenient option if you work during the week and cannot get to a skin check on a weekday.

Advanced reconstructive techniques for larger or complex skin cancer removals.
Cryotherapy
Freezing treatment for actinic keratoses, sunspots and superficial skin lesions.
Mole Monitoring
Ongoing dermoscopy monitoring of atypical moles and high-risk patients.

Fees
Dr Sucgang’s skin check consultations are $135 with a Medicare rebate of $84.90 (out of pocket $50.10). Biopsies are bulk billed. Excision and surgical procedure fees are discussed with you before any procedure so there are no surprises. If you have a skin cancer that requires treatment beyond what can be done in-clinic, Dr Sucgang can coordinate referrals to plastic surgeons or dermatologists.
