About Our Clinic
We’re located at Shop M032, Australia Fair Metro Shopping Centre, 58 Scarborough Street, Southport QLD 4215 — one of the most accessible locations on the Gold Coast. We’re on the mezzanine level of Australia Fair, with ample parking in the centre, bus stops on Scarborough Street directly outside, and a short walk from the Gold Coast light rail.
Being inside a shopping centre makes life a little easier for our patients — you can combine your GP visit with errands, the kids’ school pickup isn’t a logistical nightmare, and there’s no hunting for street parking. We think that removing small barriers to healthcare matters.
We are a MyMedicare registered clinic. Registering us as your regular GP practice can mean higher Medicare rebates for eligible patients with chronic conditions and helps us provide better coordinated, long-term care. Register through the Medicare Express Plus app or your Medicare Online Portal.

Billing and Fees
We are a private billing clinic. Standard GP consultations start from $90, with Medicare rebates applying to most services — reducing your out-of-pocket cost at the time of your visit. We have EFTPOS and Medicare/HICAPS terminals at reception so rebates are returned on the spot.
We are a Bupa preferred provider, which may mean additional benefits for Bupa members. We have HICAPS onsite for on-the-spot private health insurance claims — most major funds are supported including Allianz.
Onsite Pathology
Australian Clinical Labs operates from within our building, making it easy to have blood tests and pathology collected after your GP appointment without needing to travel elsewhere. Your GP can arrange a referral for pathology at your appointment.

Do you bulk bill at Southport Metro Medical Centre?
We are a private billing clinic — we do not bulk bill. A gap fee applies after your Medicare rebate for all patients. Standard consults start from $90 with a Medicare rebate of $43.90 applying. Do I need to be an existing patient to book?
No — we welcome new patients. You can book online via HotDoc or call reception on (07) 5612 7830. If you’re a new patient, arriving a few minutes early to complete registration paperwork is helpful.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Your Medicare card, any current medications or a medication list, relevant previous medical records if you have them, and a concession card if applicable. For children, bring their Medicare card and immunisation history if you have it.
Can I request a specific doctor?
Yes. When booking online, you can select the doctor you’d like to see. If you’d prefer a female GP, need a Mandarin or Cantonese-speaking doctor, or have another preference, mention it when you call and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
Is parking available?
Yes — ample parking is available directly at Australia Fair Metro Shopping Centre. There is also street parking nearby on Scarborough Street and surrounding streets.
Do you have a female GP?
Yes. We have female GPs available. Please call reception on (07) 5612 7830 or request a female doctor when booking online and we’ll match you with an available doctor.
