- Pre-Employment Medical AssessmentsPre-employment medicals help employers make informed hiring decisions and establish a baseline record of a new employee’s health. We tailor assessments to the specific physical and psychological demands of the role — whether it’s an office job, manual labour, mining, healthcare, or construction. Results are typically available within 24–48 hours.
- Workplace RehabilitationGetWorkReady is an approved Workplace Rehabilitation provider. We work with injured employees, their employers, and insurers to develop structured return-to-work plans, monitor progress, and provide the documentation required throughout the WorkCover Queensland process. Our physiotherapy team manages the hands-on rehabilitation component onsite.
- Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE)A functional assessment measures an individual’s ability to perform specific work tasks safely and reliably. Completed onsite by our physiotherapist, FCEs are used to support return-to-work planning, determine suitable duties, and inform WorkCover and insurance assessments.
- Audiometry (Hearing Testing)Workplace noise exposure is one of the most common occupational health risks, particularly in construction, manufacturing, and trades. Audiometry tests are used for pre-employment baseline assessments, periodic monitoring, and compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
- Spirometry (Lung Function Testing)Spirometry measures lung function and is used in industries where workers may be exposed to dust, chemicals, or other respiratory hazards. Required for pre-employment assessments in many industries including mining, construction, and healthcare.
- Drug and Alcohol TestingWe provide on-site drug and alcohol (AOD) testing for pre-employment screening and ongoing workplace compliance. Results are handled confidentially and in accordance with Australian Standards. We test for alcohol and a range of substances including cannabis, opiates, amphetamines, cocaine, and benzodiazepines.

If you’ve been asked by an employer to complete a pre-employment medical or drug test, you can book directly with us. Bring the referral form or job offer paperwork from your employer if you have it — if not, we can often proceed with just your contact details and the employer’s name.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a pre-employment medical take?
Most standard pre-employment medicals take 30–60 minutes depending on the tests required. If audiometry, spirometry, and drug testing are all included, allow up to 90 minutes. We’ll give you an accurate time estimate when you book.
How quickly will the employer receive results?
Results are typically available within 24–48 hours for standard assessments. For urgent requirements, call us and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
Is a Medicare card needed for a pre-employment medical?
Pre-employment medicals are not covered by Medicare — they are billed to the employer or the individual as agreed. A Medicare card is not required. Fees are discussed when you book.
Do you offer onsite testing at our workplace?
Call us to discuss your requirements. For larger-scale testing or ongoing programmes, we may be able to arrange onsite visits. Our Southport clinic is centrally located and easily accessible for Gold Coast businesses.
